brand longevity

How Long Can Brands Go?

Loaded question.

Longevity depends on many factors. Some brands have been around for a century or more. Jim Beam, Colgate and Macy's, to name a few.

So, what makes these brands so timeless? There are several traits that each of these brands has in common.

1. Integrity - This is paramount when it comes to being a successful brand. If you don't have it, you don't have much.

2. Reputation - Longevity is easier said than down. It's the ability to do something well, and do it consistently.

3. The Best - When you're the best, the pressure is one. And you if you can be the best, you need the same determination to stay there.

4. The Ability to Change - It is, as they say, going to happen. If you can't ebb and flow with the times, then you're a sinking ship.

Sure, you can say that's true about any company, but not really. If you dig deep, you'll see what I mean. We've all seen brands come and go, and then some just seem to stick around.

So, what are your favorite brands and why? Gotcha thinking.
